World Strings Day 2024

On August 3rd, the Global Strings Federation will host World Strings Day to celebrate our nation's 59th birthday. This special event will bring together musicians from around the world to celebrate at the Silver Garden. It’s a fantastic opportunity for musicians to connect, build friendships, share their passion for strings, and enjoy making music together in the beautiful setting of the Silver Garden.

Spectacular Outdoor Performances:

On the event day, musicians will gather in a sea of red WSD t-shirts to perform medleys of "Home," "Singapore Town," and "We Will Get There." No need to memorize the scores; a large-scale rehearsal will take place just before the actual performance.

New participants can collect their t-shirts now by appointment at Tong Ming Xi, Esplanade Mall #02-06. (T-shirts will not be available for collection at the Silver Garden on the event day )

Reporting Point: Silver Garden entry at 4.30pm

Pre-Registration for Audience Participation

This event is exclusively for participants and their immediate family members. Only those who have registered will be granted access. Entry for the audience will begin at 5:30 PM. Please present your registration confirmation email upon arrival. Due to capacity constraints by Garden by the Bay, we appreciate your understanding and cooperation.

Check-In Process

Upon arrival at the Silver Garden entrance, register and check in with your school teachers, bringing your instrument, scores, black music stand, and WSD t-shirt, and wear long pants and closed-toe shoes.

Instrument Storage

Parents are not permitted during rehearsal. If accompanying your child, please assist by holding the violin case while your child checks in. If arriving alone, place your violin or cello in the designated storage area and attach a contact label to your case.

Weather Contingency Plan

In the unfortunate event of wet weather, the event will be canceled due to its outdoor nature.
