Foreword

Global Art Festival Competizione (GAF) attracted contestants with outstanding talents from various countries such as Singapore, China, Brunei, Indonesia; marking the beginning of an exciting journey into collaborative and interdisciplinary artistry. With that spirit of continuous growth, we have organised GAF 2026, with the venue for the competition set in Singapore. Winners will gain various high-level opportunities, such as forming an orchestra to perform in Rome, in GYO 2026, and have a Sichuan Symphony Orchestra accompanying your solo performance.

We believe everyone can gain something from this learning experience in the spirit of exchange and collaboration. Participating in high-level music competitions is irreplaceable in improving a student's stage experience, acting as a gauge for their performance level, and broadening their horizons. The GAF Organising Committee sincerely invites young people from all over the world to participate in the upcoming GAF 2026.

Professional Pianist Category

Round 1

● Perform 1 full Baroque work (15–25 minutes).

● Perform 2 études.

● Only one main work is allowed in this round.

Round 2

● Perform the set piece by a local composer

● Perform an additional piece of 30–35 minutes (excluding the set piece).

● The programme must include contrasting works from the Classical, Romantic, or Modern period.

● Set piece must be performed first.

Final Round

● Perform 1 full concerto from the approved list (see below).

● No substitutions are allowed.

● Orchestral accompaniment will be provided.

● Finalists will be granted 2 rehearsals at XXX with orchestra.

● If more than one work is chosen, they must be contrasting.

Final Round

● Perform a 15–20 minute programme.

● Must include works from Round 1 and Round 2, plus at least one new work.

Piano Group 2 (13 - 15 years old)

Round 1

● Perform any Prelude & Fugue from The Well-Tempered Clavier and/or excerpts from Bach’s Suites, Partitas, or Toccatas (5–8 minutes).

Round 2

● Perform a 10–15 minute programme.

● If more than one work is selected, they must be contrasting across Classical, Romantic, or Modern periods.

Final Round

● Perform a 25–30 minute programme.

● Must include works from Round 1 and Round 2, plus at least one additional work.

Piano Group 3 (Above 16 years old)

Round 1

● Perform any full work or excerpts by J.S. Bach (10–15 minutes).

● Perform 1 étude.

Round 2

● Perform the set piece by a local composer

● Perform an additional programme of 15–20 minutes (excluding the set piece).

● Programme must include contrasting works from Classical, Romantic, or Modern periods.

● Set piece must be performed first.

Final Round

● Perform the 1st movement of any concerto (max 20 mins) with own piano accompanist.

● Perform 1 additional work from previous rounds.

● Participants must arrange for their own accompanists and make appropriate cuts in tutti sections.
